about

ABOUT THIS TRACK
It's lonely out at space, there's plenty of quiet time to think introspectively and plenty of 'space' for personal growth. So what were to happen if you were stationed on a planet for many years - making home and growing into the solitude that comes with a population of you, and then you were told that your mission had completed and you were to return to earth?

LYRICS
Old day, my mind just drifts away under the sheets
It’s a long way, from the ground up into the sky
The highway beyond my reach
My rocket stands, a ruin in a vast land
Of which I call my home

And if I should ever go back to where I came from
I’ll see the city lights burning brightly back at me
And I’ll miss these starry nights, which guide me gently
Oh, they guide me gently

Old friend, I know we’ve shared a lot but this I learn alone
So I will send, you a letter just to let you know
I’ll be round again
And though I know, you’ve changed a lot
Please know, I’ve changed some too

And if I should ever go back to where I came from
I’ll see the city lights burning brightly back at me
And I’ll miss these starry nights, which guide me gently
Oh, they guide me gently
